CANYON
Sex:
Male/ neutered
Age: 4yr
Avg. Weight: 65 lbs
Breed: Shep mix?
Training: obedience and deference
Knowledge:
sit, down, lay down, go lay down (if he has a specific
area you want him to sleep/stay in), no, leave it,
right-here (instead of 'come'), stay, and probably
more.
Personality:
lively, friendly, anxious, loyal, fun, obedient,
active, kind, loving, silly, calm, barks less than
most, and extremely intuitive - when you are active,
he's ready to join you; when you are busy or resting,
he is calm and keeps out of the way.
Restrictions/Needs:
Canyon does not always realize his size or energy
level, so I recommend he live in a home with no
young children. Also, he does have anxiety and must
have an owner who is a strong/alpha leader. He takes
a small dose of Prozac each morning to ease his
anxiety - and he's a whole different dog when he's
on the Prozac: he maintains all of his amazing qualities
and characteristics but he loses that "edge"
that he has when he's not taking the prescription.
As I mentioned, Canyon is an active dog therefore
he must have a new family who will play with him
(his favorite is 'catch'), take him for walks or
running, or encourage him to play (in a fenced yard)
with his K9 siblings.

JACK

Jack
is estimated at 6-7 years old. He is housetrained and
has good house manners. He's good with cats and older
children but would need some time to warm up to other
dogs. He is 90# but should be about 75. I believe he has
some spaniel or setter and the vet thinks some Bernese
Mt. Dog. He is HW negative, neutered and his shots are
up to date through July 2010.
He is in Macedon, NY and you can contact me at

GOLDIE

Goldie
is a 15 year old Terrier/Mixed spayed female. She was
born 05-05-1995, I believe she may have some Boxer in
her and I was told she may have Rhodesian Ridgeback as
well. All in all she has been a great pet and companion
over these 15 years and it will be hard to part with her.
However, despite her age she still has a lot of energy
and needs attention and exercise regularly, which I am
no longer able to give her. She plays well with other
animals, although since she has a hearing problem now,
she gets "spooked" if another animal sneaks
up on her. She has never been aggressive, has never bit
anyone and has always enjoyed playing with kids. She used
to love going to the beach, no matter if it was the lake
or the ocean, she loved the water. One of her favorite
things when I would take her to the park, was to chase
all the ducks out of the creek. She would make them go
up on the banks and wait for them to come back into the
creek and chase them out again. I think the ducks had
as much fun as she did, because they'd let her get up
close to them and then fly away. Goldie would do this
for hours and I'd enjoy her antics. She was a well behaved
dog, did some tricks, like roll over, fetch, give me paw
etc. Now that she can't hear, she doesn't obey commands.
I used to be able to take a treat and put it in front
of her and she wouldn't take it until I told her she could.
I
really don't want to give her up, but for me to keep her
would not be healthy for her and just plain selfish on
my part. I am 70 years old, I've just under gone cancer
treatments for my lung. I am currently on oxygen and have
all I can do to just handle my daily routines. My wife
is 74 and she has her hands full with me and has had to
assume the chores I am no longer able to do. So as you
can see, we really need to have our treasured pet taken
care of for as long as she has left to live. I have all
of her medical records from when I first got her up to
and including an operation she had just a month ago for
a growth.
Please
consider my Goldie for placement in a good loving home.

JENNY

Looking
for a special home for a special needs dog. Jenny is a
female, Australian Cattle Dog mix, who is approximately
7 years old. She is a Hurricane Katrina rescue who was
adopted by her current owner in October 2005. Unfortunately,
Jenny is again
looking for a loving home as her owner has developed a
serious physical condition which does not allow her to
care for Jenny.
Jenny has always been very timid and shy and is content
to stay in a quiet room alone most of the time. She has
not been able to overcome this in her current home which
is very quiet and calm, without a lot of visitors, distractions
or socialization. Jenny has
bonded to her owner and has grown very attached to her
"sister" Daisy, who is a 6 years old, female
Yellow Labrador Retriever. Jenny is leery of adults, but
seems to like children. She is afraid of thunder and loud
noises. She is house trained, walks on a
leash, rides very well in a car, and is good with cats
and other dogs. She has no health issues except that she
is a bit overweight. She is current on her vaccinations,
is heartworm negative and is on a preventative. Jenny
is a special case and will need a very patient and loving
home with someone who is willing to work on her issues
and bring out the best in her so that she will have a
long and fear-free life.
Jenny is located in Geneva, NY. If you are interested
in providing Jenny with a much deserved loving and forever
home, please contact Ann at anniem614@aol.com
