Velma
Velma and Daphne
Daphne

My companion,
My friend,
My sister.

Although their looks differ slightly, Daphne and Velma are 11 months old, Spaniel- mixed  female littermates- sisters.  They were adopted from a southern rural shelter as very young pups. Sadly their “Dad" has Multiple Scerlous and decided two pups were too much for him, so back to the shelter they went to await their fate.  Luckily, someone alerted BlueMoon to these two and we were able to save them.  They are now comfortably residing in one of our loving foster home.

They are littermates, but have very different personalities,  markings,  and size. The little one, Daphne,  is more out going , confident, and clearly in charge.  Velma, the larger pup is less confident, and just wants to constantly be near you for reassurance, she is a snuggler and loves to give kisses. We will be encouraging her to be more outgoing, and less dependant on her little sister.  They are very bonded to each other, and it would be great if they found a home together. They eat together, sleep in the same crate,  do everything together especially snuggle!!   Although, even if adopted separate they would adjust to separate lives just fine.  Honestly,  the separation usually brings out each other individualism and in the long run is better for them.

They are very sweet, gentle pups that should adapt well to other pets in the house. Right now they are lap dogs and just want to be with their people.  A fenced yard for them to play in would be wonderful.  They just arrived Sunday, so their foster mom, Beth is still getting to know them. She will update in a little while when they have been  there a little longer. Beth is already smitten with them and writes that “they are very easy to take care of, and are just the sweetest puppies that you could ever find.”

Daphne weighs about 35 lbs, she is the smaller black one, and Velma goes around 40 lbs. They are not big dogs, and they are done growing.  They appear to have nice house manners and both are housebroken. Besides a good bath and grooming, they are in excellent health. They are both spayed, up-to-date on all their vaccinations, wormed, and Heartworm negative.  Their current pictures do not show off their inner or outer beauty, we will post othes once they settle into their foster home

August 2007 Update:

Velma remains a sweet pup, she is approx 1 yr old now, but remains a puppy, she is a cuddler, and loves to be near her "person" , She shows no aggression whatsoever here. She loves to please, and does not like to have anyone raising their voices around her as she thinks she has displeased someone and that upsets her.. A quiet home would be good for her, she loves children, but could not handle a loud boisterous crowd of them. When she is outside in her "play" area with her sister Daphne, she is the one (Velma) who will physically "smile" when you approach and talk to her. She will need an owner that is not gone long hours everyday, and would do better with another dog that is not too rough. She will need an owner who loves cuddling and soft kisses, and will treat her with a soft hand and lots of love. She is Spayed, UTD on shots, wormed and hw neg.

Daphne is the smaller of the two, but she is bolder than Velma, but she still does not like to be yelled at all. She is playfull and she is a great watch dog, she will let you know if anyone strange is around. She likes to make a little purring noice in her throat when she is happy and content. She likes a little rough house play but not too much so. She also is a cuddler and loves to be close to her "person" . She will also need a home where the owner is not gone long hours, and another dog as a playmate, if possible. Daphne, is learning to like to be brushed, and her feet wiped off when she comes in ,if she is wet. She is also spayed, UTD wormed and hw neg.

They are both housetrained, and crate trained, They love chew toys, and they are good eaters, not fussy at all. They are ready for a home of their own.
