Sadie and Butter
|
Sadie
Butter and Sadie are 8-9 months old female Lab Siblings. These two found themselves on very limited time schedule in the shelter in VA .
|
Butter and Sadie's owner has serious heart problems that forced them to give up his doggies. Not having made arrangement for their continued care, he took them to rural Southern shelter were they found theirselves on death row. They are in great condition and are very good natured. They were definitely well taken care of ;but sadly many great dogs who owners do not plan for the unexpected end up in the same situation.
BlueMoon was made aware of their plight by a nice shelter worker. She got these two out of the shelter, they are safe for now. We are waiting to get them into a vet for examination and altering. Then they will stay there until transport can be arranged. Check back for details on these two!

Sadie has arrived safely to her foster home More details soon.... We received VERY SAD news today on Butter- she died March 4th of Blastomycosis (brief description below). Sadie seems unaffected... but will be checked by our vet. This disease is not transmitted from Dog to Dog.
Blastomycosis is an infection found in dogs, people, and occasionally cats. It is caused by the fungal organism Blastomyces dermatitidis, which is found as a mold in the soil or at room temperatures and as a yeast in tissues or at body temperatures. The mold occurs in sandy, acid soils near river valleys or other waterways. Endemic in Ohio, Mississippi, and St. Lawrence river valleys, the Great lakes region, and along the eastern seaboard, veterinarians report blastomycosis more frequently in the fall.
