ELLIE –Ellie is a sweet little 3 yr. old pug mix, whose owner died, and she has no family to take her...poor sad sweet girl. After Ellie's mom died she and two other little dogs were taken to the shelter. Her little Doxie  sister went to a Doxie Rescue and the Wheaten Terrier was adopted Sat. by a friend of the owner. Ellie is approx 12 lbs. She is still grieving the loss of her mom and sisters. She is absolutely terrified in the shelter and is so confused on why she is there. Ellie needs a quiet home to figure out what is going on. Her heart will mend with some love and time. She has an entire life to reward her new family.

Ellie is in good health, spayed, and up-to-date with her vaccinations.

11-29-06 UPDATE:

Miss Ellie was taken to the Vet today and is running a fever.  She is being kept at the Vet for medical care. We don't believe its serious and most likely stress related; but we not taking any chances. If her fever comes down, she will be transported this weekend. She will remain at the Vets until transport. More details ASAP.

12-4-06 UPDATE:

Ellie is doing better and is now in BlueMoon's care. One of our Corporate Directors (Kelly) picked her up on her way to Maryland and brought her back to Rochester. Ellie was in good hands all weekend, for Kelly's dad is a Vet. She stayed with Kelly's family all weekend. Here an update from Kelly on Sunday:

"She is doing much better this morning and relaxing. She has warmed up to my Dad and was fine with him handling her for the examine. She weighs 11 pounds. It looks like she is about 3 years as her teeth are very good. She is a very picky eater and did not eat her dry food last night but ate her medicine in cheese and treats. Right now she is sleeping by the computer contently. Her congestion is doing fine and is very nasal. It is present when she runs around or gets excited but not when she is sleeping or laying down."

12-11-06: Miss Ellie is recovered from her shelter ordeal. She eating, sleeping , and playing ! What a cute girl!!! She is ready for a forever home.

1-16-07 Update: Ellie has found her forever home!

I am so sorry that I have not sent you an update on Ellie before now, my family and I have all been down with a wicked flu, and are now just getting ourselves back to normal.  It has been a definite plus for Ellie, as she has had some one home with her the whole first week she has been with us.  She spent much of her days curled up with my husband sleeping on his feet, and sleeping under the covers with daughter and my self.

I have sooooo much to tell you that I don't know where to begin.....

Ellie has adjusted BEAUTIFULLY to being with us.  As of last Wednesday, Ellie began defending her new home by barking whenever she sees or hears anything out of the ordinary.  A MAJOR step toward believing she is home for good!  Ellie is eating 2 full meals a day and asking to go outside, jumping up on the furniture, the bed and my lap without any hesitation and has taken her first ride with us.  She has learned how to play with my cats, and she and Ace chase each other back and forth through the house, making me laugh right out loud!  She drinks out of Rex's bowl, and Rex has learned that her food is hers, and his food is his, but Rex still keeps her company when she eats.  Ellie started out eating only if I stood behind her and kept a hand on her at all times, but she will now eat if I just stay

Please feel free to update Ellie's info on your site to show her as adopted!  We couldn't possibly give her up now, and she is forever home.  Thank you so much for trusting us with Ellie, we love her, she loves us, and it is a PERFECT fit!  Our digital camera is still out of commission, and no one has felt good enough to go out and get a disposable one, but we will send pic's as soon as we can!  As always please call with any comments or concerns anytime. Thanks again-Ruth (Ellie's Mom)
