There are three Labradoodles, one apricot male, one black male and one black female, BlueMoon has been asked to help. We will learn more about them soon. We know they are 7 mo old and the breeder became too ill to care for them any longer. They will weigh about 60 lbs when full grown. Will have more pictures soon

The Labradoodles are here. Yes, even the latest " Designer Dogs", end up in shelters when their owners do not make arrangements for their continous care. Here a defination of what a Labroodle is:

One of the most popular breed of designer dog is the Labradoodle—originally a cross between a Labrador retriever and a poodle. The mix reputedly combines the intelligence, aloof nature, the delicate frame, and the low-allergy, and non-shedding traits of the poodle with the boisterous exuberance, lovability, and loyalty of a lab.

These littermates are named Dylan, Daphne, and Damon. They all very excited to be out of the shelter and receiving TLC. They seem to be in excellent health and all three have sound temperaments. They are dirty and skinky! Being breeder dogs they have been in a kennel most their lives. However; they did very well in the crate and did not spoil the crate. They also did very well with other dogs and people. They are not altered at this time. All three went to our vets at 9:30 am for a complete health exam and spay/neuter tommorrow.   BlueMoon does not adopt out unaltered dogs, these three are no exception. Dylan and Damon are about 55-60 lbs and Daphne about 40-45 lbs. We will have many more details after their vet visit and after we get to know them better.

7/2/06 update

Dylan, Daphne and Damon are recovering from their surgery and now moved to foster homes. Damon is in a Foster to Adopt home and Dylan and Daphne in foster care. All three received a clean bill of health from our vet and also a "good behavior" report.  They were quite popular with the staff. More info ASAP. Please note we have received many applications for these dogs and will process them in order of date received. Our adoption process is setup to be fair and unbiased. BlueMoon's standard adoption fee will be the same as our other Orphans, they are not for sale. Damon is fostering with a previously approved applicant under the Foster to Adopt program.

7/28/06 Update

Dylan (now Sherlock) has found a forever home in MD. He is an only 2 or 4 legged child and has two parents that just dote on him all the time.

He is one lucky boy.

8-18-06 Update

Damon's (now Doodles) Foster-to-Adopt family has adopted him. He will be the only canine in the family but has two twin boys to play with and a mom that dotes on him. He also has a feline housemate that he adores.

The entire family resides in Erie, PA. Doodles enjoys his large fenced in backyard, playing ball, and going on family vacations.
