CASS

Cass is one of the ten dogs and five cats that were orphaned in Long Island, NY. Cass's parents were huge animal lovers and made arrangements to provide for their pets, in case of their death. Cass and his family pack were all "willed" to Glen Highland Farm (a Border Collie Rescue). Cass's mom knew Glen Highland Farm from a previous adoption and knew that they would guaranteed the orphan's safety. Within 48 hrs all 10 dogs and 5 cats were taken to a safe place to heal and start their transition to a bright future. Later they were transferred to BlueMoon.

Cass is a 7 year old German Shepherd mix, Cass is a friendly, playful, good natured dog who loves a great game of catch and has the energy to outrun any young dog to get his toy and bring it back! Playing with toys makes Cass one happy dog. He also loves a good belly scratch and will happily hang next to you for affection. He's also ready to head out the door to go in the car or go for a walk, happy to be with his person. Cass likes to learn and would benefit from positive rewards like treats when asking him to try new things - he is very food motivated - and quite smart. He is happiest as the solo dog where he can be a great companion to his person and would love to spend time as their constant friend. He is a strong male with other dogs so it is best he is the only dog. Cass lived with ten dogs in a loving home but the death of his guardians, left all the dogs homeless. His previous life was simple...his yard, his people and lots of love so that is pretty much what would make him happy again. Cass doesn't need to go to dog parks or visit soccer games or go through obedience class ...he's a wonderful dog with a great heart to share. We hope to find an adult home with time to spend with this sweet guy.

Cass has been provided the best veterinarian care his whole life. His health is excellent.
