Scout's father is terminally ill and his wife could no longer care for him and Scout. Scout was at the doorsteps of an Ohio shelter, when a friend of BlueMoon's intervened. She asked her why she would ever surrendered such a cute dog like this to the shelter and was told the story. Our friend, felt so bad for her that I told her that I would take Scout and find a rescue for him.
Scout is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix. He is up-to-date with all his vaccinations and neutered. He is 18 months old. He is 25lbs and will not get any larger. He is an absolute doll and is great with other dogs and with everybody that he's meet. Scout also rides in the car like a dream.

Scott has safety arrived to BlueMoon, thanks to the great Transport team and volunteer drivers! Here are some of his foster's first impression- - "What a goof! Scout loves to play and he acts like one of those dogs you see in the circus! Jumping up and bouncing off objects....he's not uncontrollable, just happy! He stops when you tell him to. Scout walks fairly well on the leash...he needs a little training. Speaking of training, he'd benefit from a whole series! Scout is probably 20 inches at the shoulder and maybe 2 and a half feet long, minus the tail. He wasn't overly cooperative when I measured him! This guy is loveable....when I get a chance to write a better write up and pictures;but he should be adopted pretty quickly! He really is a sweetie!
August 27. 2006 Update- Scout finds his forever Family!
Scout will be going tonight to live with Deb and Pat in the fingerlake region of NY . He will have a HUGE extended family with a King Charles Spaniel for a playmate. They have a nice yard with an invisible fence and a great neighborhood for walks. Deb works right down the street and comes home at lunch. Deb is very willing to get training for him, which he really should have.
The little boy was wonderful with Scout and Scout loved him up as soon as he saw him! Lots of attention and mom said that Pat will be involved in learning the training process so the whole family, including Scout, knows what is expected.
Scout will be loved and cherished as a member of the family.- Shannon (Scout's Foster mom)
