Sissy

Sissy is a two year old Lab/Wired- hair Terrier mix. She is upset because her Mom is ill and can no longer care for her, she has to stay outside all the time now, and misses being with her Mom. She is around 30-40 lbs and good with other dogs.

Sissy is up-to-date on her vaccinations, spayed, and heartworm negative. Sissy is due to arrive the weekend on July 8, 2006.

7- 18-06 Update- Sissy was adopted by her FTA family.

Just wanted to give you an update on Sissy.   She has settled in quite nicely - and she is housebroken.   I think the couple of accidents were just newness to the house.   I did call her former owners to let them know she was with me and doing well.   They were very grateful to hear from me.   It appears that although she probably slept outside, she was allowed in the house.   She still has to learn some manners but she's just so sensitive and teachable, I'm hoping she'll show Beau a thing or two.   They are still getting along very well - no food territorial issues - they drink and sometimes eat out of the same bowl at the same time.  They've had a couple of squabbles but you can tell they're just setting their boundries to each other.  The older dogs are accepting her into the pack, relunctantly at first but they're all getting used to each other.  She had a bath this weekend & was very tolerant & seemed to enjoy it - even with cold water.   I did find out from her owners that her coat is actually longer - she had been shaved before coming to us so it'll be neat to see what she looks like when she's all grown in.

As you can probably tell, we are planning to keep her - it didn't take her long to make her way into our hearts.   I do want to thank you - she really is the perfect dog for us & Beau.   Couldn't ask for a nicer temperment - she loves to be with me but will go out & play with Beau quite a bit.   -Denise
