Tommy
$25 Amanda Battaglia

Tommy lost his home when a Ohio Tornado blew it away. Tommy's parents with no roof over their head, had to find a new home for Tommy. Tommy was slightly injured in the tornado when a good size branch came down and smacked him in the head. Besides the little mark on his head, which should fade away, Tommy is great health and spirits. This is one happy little boy! Tommy is a 8-10 mo old Yellow Lab /Beagle mix. A huge thanks you to our friends at Shepherd Haven, who helped Tommy get to BlueMoon.

7-18-06 update

Tommy's wound is healing nicely, and his neuter stitches will be out soon. Tommy is a typical puppy, active, funny, and very playfull. He is good in his crate and quiet, when he needs to be crated. Tommy needs some brushing up on his housetraining, but he is still getting used to everything here. We are working on his manners, he just gets so excited for attention and playtime, and tends to be a little mouthy, but he has really improved with this in the past few days.

He woud benefit from obedience training in his new home. He is a beagle/lab mix, so he will follow his nose, so a secure yard (fence) would be best for him. Another medium size dog to play with would also benefit him to help expend his energy. Tommy needs an active family, who can give him the exercize and playtime he needs to get him through the puppy stage until he matures and settles down.

Tommy enjoys his toys, he will play with just about anything, he knows how to fetch and will bring his toy back with gusto, just waiting for you to throw it again !!! He knows sit and down, he is walking much better on a leash, and is smart enough to learn anything you want him to with patience and time. Tommy is a little mouthy yet (we are working on that) so for that reason we will not place him with small children.

He is "a work in progress" and I believe that with the right training and maturity, he will be a funny, and entertaining, and lovable companion. Tommy has his nose to the ground always, so he may be a candidate to be a good hunting companion in the future. Tommy is UTD on his shots, HW neg, and

neutered

8-26-06 Update;  Tommy was a perfect gentleman at the Toy Fest. He made lots and friends and was a delight to be around! He and Ruby really enjoyed playing together. He is going to make one special family very happy!
